Cartoons simplify complex issue and easy to understand for the common man. Issues usually depicted in cartoons are of political, policies and ideas. People who are involved with the policies and giving direction to the country are expected to be criticized for their roles and decisions by the public . Indeed, constructive criticism is the need of any progressive society.
After Mamata, it's congress turn to remove one cartoon from 11th class NCERT text book, Indian Constitution at work, which apparently insulted Dr.B.R.Ambedkar. Surprisingly, the cartoon was first drawn in 1949 by Shankar who was awarded Padma Vibushan by Govt. of India. How come politicians found the cartoon is objectionable after nearly 60 years? What is objectionable, by the way??
